What can I expect from a bellydance lesson?

Our bellydance lessons are fun and energetic, with a very friendly and positive atmosphere. You will learn all our lovely bellydance moves, these will be practiced in drills then put together in a dance choreography. We will work to increase your heart rate and fitness level, you’ll also improve co-ordination, muscle tone, flexibility and posture.


What clothes/shoes should I wear?

Wear comfortable gym type clothing that’s easy to move & stretch in. Dance pants, leggings or gym pants with a singlet or t-shirt – bare bellies are optional.

Bare feet, socks, jiffies or jazz shoes are fine. For your hips, bring a scarf or coin belt if you have one. Coin belts are available for sale at class. Bring along a bottle of water and your smile too.


How long are the classes?

My classes run for 1 hour, this includes a warm up, learning technique, dance drills, choreography and a cool down. The terms generally run for 8 weeks depending on public holidays.


Can I do the first class for free?

We run free taster classes throughout the year.

Or bring a friend for free at other times.

If you would like to try a class at other times you can pay the trial class as casual rate of $18 & this will be deducted from your term fees.


How can I enroll on the classes?

How can I pay?

By cash or direct deposit (sorry not eftpos facilities)


Can I do casual classes?

We recommend all students enrol for a full term, as our lessons are structured towards learning a choreography. However we do have an option for casual classes, please speak to your teacher beforehand.


What if I work shifts?

Our students have the option of making up missed classes on another night or discuss with your teacher the option of casual lessons


What is the average age of attendees?

Our students tend to range quite widely between late teens to those in their late 50’s, with the vast majority falling between 20’s to 40’s. If you fall anywhere outside this box do not fret, if you prefer we offer private classes to any age, kids as well.


Do I have to be fit to join and what if I have never danced before?

Ladies of all ages, fitness levels, shapes and sizes join our dance lessons. We encourage all students to work at their own pace. We revise all the movements and drills regularly and offer variations in our teaching methods also.


How many people attend the classes?

Our classes do vary in size, generally speaking our classes range from 8 up to 20, depending on the season.


What happens if I miss one class? Can I catch up another day?

Yes we strongly recommend making up a missed class by either attending at other times or any of our other locations.


Do I have a chance to perform?

Yes, we run Social nights throughout the year where are students have the opportunity to perform. Most ladies find this a wonderful experience, it can be nerve wracking but once the performance is over you will be on a dancing hight and feel invigorated. There is never any pressure to perform.


Social Nights

Our Social Nights are loads for fun, with plenty of variety. Ranging from dinner at a nice restaurant, dinner and performing at a restaurant or joining a Community Night with a mixture of singers and drummers with lots of audience participation. There’s always lots of  excitement and the thrill of being part of an artistic group.

We do not offer refunds for dance lessons or bookings. In accordance with Fair Trading, we do not offer refunds for change of mind. We may offer a credit be given toward future sessions (from the date you notify us) if you are unable to attend due to special circumstances (eg. Medical with Doctor’s certificate)
